Paid Time Off (PTO)
UnityPoint Health provides benefit eligible team members with Paid Time Off (PTO). The purpose of PTO is to give you flexibility in scheduling time away from work. PTO combines vacation, individual or family related sick days, holidays, and personal days you might need during the year. The PTO plan includes time off required under all state and local paid leave laws to include sick and safe leave.

UnityPoint Health recognizes the following holidays:

  • • New Year’s Day
  • • Memorial Day
  • • Fourth of July
  • • Labor Day
  • • Thanksgiving Day
  • • Christmas Day

UnityPoint Health also offers benefit-eligible team members, managers, and directors the opportunity to “cash out” PTO hours.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

UnityPoint Health is proud to offer compassionate and confidential care through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). EAP services are designed to help team members and their eligible family members identify and resolve personal concerns.

It can be difficult to feel vulnerable. Our licensed counselors understand this sentiment and consider it a privilege to earn your trust and care for you. Protecting your privacy is essential to a successful counseling experience and you can be assured that your sessions will remain confidential.

Leaves of Absence
UnityPoint Health understands even the most dedicated Team Member can experience circumstances that may require them to be away from their job to deal with personal, medical, or family matters. Common reasons for leaves of absence are childbirth, adoption, serious health condition, caring for an ill family member, education, or military leave.

Eligible UPH leaves of absence under the program include:

  • • Family and Medical Leave (FML)

  • • Parental
  • • Personal

UnityPoint Health also offers bereavement leave, jury duty and paid parental benefits.

OnPoint for Health Wellness Program

Wellness Credit

Benefit-eligible team members enrolled in a UnityPoint Health health plan can earn a per pay period credit added to their paycheck, rewarding them for making wellness a priority. A covered spouse/domestic partner is also eligible if enrolled under the health plan. To earn the credit, team members and their spouse/domestic partner must complete an annual physical and online Health Risk Assessment (HRA)

Wellness Rewards

Benefit-eligible team members and their spouse/domestic partner (even if they are not enrolled in a UnityPoint Health health plan) can earn points by completing challenges to earn financial rewards – up to $250 paid out on your paycheck.

Wellbeats & LifeSpeak

UnityPoint Health partners with Wellbeats to offer a variety of on-demand courses and programs  to support physical, mental, and nutritional health and wellbeing.

LifeSpeak courses can be accessed at any time and are led by world-class experts in a variety of topics, such as stress and anxiety, mindfulness, relationships, parenting, sleep and movement, self-care, and PTSD.
